About the game
Short description
Animal Loop is a one-tap racing game for iPhone and iPad. Your animal rolls on its own, and every tap turns it. Race 18 animals across 27 handmade tracks in three worlds, take on a Grand Prix in every world, and race into the night as the sun sets on every track.
Long description
In Animal Loop there is no stick and no brake. Your animal rolls forward in a straight line inside its ball, and each tap turns it. Time your taps to stay off the walls and keep your hearts.
The game spans three worlds, each with nine handmade tracks, from simple loops to knots that cross over and under themselves. Dune Flats adds switch gates that flip which way a tap turns you. Coral Shallows adds bridges and loops that pass back under themselves. Fern Hollow adds sticky mud and moles that dig you a shortcut.
Every world ends with a Grand Prix: all nine tracks back to back, at the speed you pick, against that world's rival animal. Win it and the rival joins your roster. Game Center friends race alongside you as ghosts of their best runs. Every track also has its own day/night cycle, with shadows that follow the sun.

History
Animal Loop began around 2010 as Hamster Racing, an idea sketched right after wOzy launched its first game, TicToe Fury, for the first iPad. It was shelved. Development restarted from a blank Xcode project on July 28, 2026.
A game with a single input lives or dies on its difficulty curve, so Sebastián built custom tools to balance the 27 tracks: a level editor, a track analyzer that scores each track's difficulty, and a simulator that plays every track with a bot. The full story is in the dev diary: One Tap, Twenty-Seven Tracks, and a Simulation Engine I Never Planned to Build.
